If you are planning a trip along the European Mediterranean coast, I would use this itinerary that will help you travel with style. First off I would go to Rome/Civitavecchia, Italy: This port is known for its fine seafood and beautiful monuments. The well-known tourist areas are the Coliseum, Forum, Pantheon, Vatican, Sistine Chapel and Spanish Steps. These landmarks show Rome’s rich history.

I would then head on to Porto Venere, Italy This is a reminder of a medieval town. You will enjoy two churches, an ancient castle, and a bell tower. This town has amazing beauty that will take your breath away.

Your next stop should be Florence/Livorno, Italy. This is the beginning of Italy’s Tuscan region. You will enjoy the amazing views of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the village of Lucca, and Florence.

Stop at Portofino which is on the Italian Riviera Bay. You will enjoy the stunning views of the Gulf of Rapallo and its coast.

Make sure you see St-Tropez, France. This is an area that celebrities, artists and writers like to come and visit. Amazing yachts will be at the port

Monte Carlo, Monaco is a place you will not want to miss. Monaco is full of history. Monaco covers less than one square mile, but it known for its Grand Casino.

Lastly stop in Valencia, Spain. This is a stunning city in Spain. It has a grand location on the Mediterranean. You will enjoy the perfect climate and beaches. See the Old Town early cathedral.

Learning to travel to the Mediterranean on a budget requires preplanning if you want to make some significant savings. Booking flights, train tickets and museum visits on the internet is the best way to get reduced prices. Often visits are free on certain days of the week that are considered slow.
Traveling off season provides opportunities to pick and choose hotel rooms. The package tours will be the cheapest since the vendors will need to sell them before the final expiration date. A hotel room, one or two daily meals and some amenities such as a tour will be part of the package.
The end of the season is also a time when the tourists have gone and the locals come out to enjoy their town. The restaurants where the locals eat will still be open and will not be set at tourist prices. This is where one can get to meet the real Mediterranean resident.
If your stay is going to be extended you could investigate cooking classes at a local culinary institute where you can sign up for non-credit classes. This is a wonderful way to meet the locals as well as get the basics on Mediterranean cuisine.

The French and Italian Riviera represent the epitome of Mediterranean culture. The Mediterranean is about luxury and pleasure. It is about tanned and beautiful people, skimpy bathing suits, sandy beaches, and colossal yachts anchored offshore. It is a stylish and elegant place. The outdoor restaurants and adobe houses clustered on the rocky terraces overlooking the sea look like something from a film set. The soft Mediterranean sunlight bathes everything in a romantic glow.

If you are planning a trip to the Mediterranean, then remember to pack your most sophisticated clothes, as well as your posh European sensibility.Get more information here. http://travelnews.britishairways.com/2010/03/31/visitors-to-nice-urged-to-discover-more-of-the-french-riviera/ Wear designer sunglasses like you are in a 1960s Italian film. Rent a convertible to drive on the narrow roads overlooking the sea. Bring a loved one and sit outside and eat oysters and drink wine. Sunbathing is a must. If you tire of the sea, Nice and Cannes, both in the French Riviera, offer lots of other cultural and artistic attractions. Monaco has some of the most elegant and luxurious casinos in the world. Why not spin the roulette wheel or hit the craps table? Just remember to dress like you are James Bond, as the Mediterranean is about class and sophistication.

There’s something to be said for the Mediterranean diet as people who live in this region seem to have better health than most others. If you’ve been reading about the benefits on your www.cannonSatellite.com internet or in magazines, here’s what you need to know.
Oil Is Not The Enemy: Olive oil is a substantial and healthy part of the Mediterranean diet and people there know to use it sparingly. It’s got a lot less bad-for-you fats than traditional oils and it’s got more flavor so you can use it to dress everything from greens to pasta.
Meat Isn’t Big: When you portion out your meat, do it much smaller. Think of meat the size of a side dish now and you’re well on your way to eating more Mediterranean. And while you’re at it, eat more seafood!
Use Less Ingredients: True Mediterranean people use fewer but higher quality ingredients and they’re big on herbs and produce. Think tomatoes, peppers, and basil and use cheese but buy the good stuff. That way you’ll get more flavor and more bang for your buck.

Depending on where you live, your Mediterranean dreams begin when you arrive in a country that borders the Mediterranean. If you want to travel to the Mediterranean in style, you need to book a flight to an airport in a Mediterranean country. You have travel options once you arrive at a city like Rome or Athens. You travel plans can include booking a private room on a cruise ship that tours the Mediterranean. You can make your cruise bookings at the same time that you book your flight to a Mediterranean country. It is often less expensive if you make your bookings for cruise ships to the Mediterranean when you plan your vacation to the Mediterranean in style.
Once you have your airline tickets, your cruise ship bookings, your itinerary and your passport, you can look through travel catalogues to plan your necessary documents and other items to make your travel to the Mediterranean in style safe and adventurous and not problematical. Plan on hiring local guides or of hiring a local taxi cab driver to show you the sites of the places you visit in the Mediterranean. They are quick and more knowledgeable about their country or island and are more convenient than buying tickets on touring buses that might require advance booking.

Traveling to the Mediterranean on a serious budget? Well, there are a number of money efficient things you can do so you don’t end up staying in one place for your whole time there.

One good thing to do while you are about to set your trip to the Mediterranean is to travel during the office. A lot of different cruise ships stay open just for that because they know a lot of people tend to buy their tickets this time. You’ll save money initially by buying your tickets in advanced for the off season. You’ll see a lot more of the Mediterranean through the cruise as well. Make sure you book your tickets for hotels and museum trips early. Often times you’ll find it a lot cheaper online than simply doing it in person. It’s always good to know the conversion rate between the dollar and euro or wherever kind of currency of the country you’re going to stay in for a while. Also, limit your shopping. Try to find good bargains, so you save money for more important things. You can take in some of the nice, cheap everyday foods of the area you’re visiting instead of fancy restaurants.

The Mediterranean lifestyle has received the attention of many people around the world. One of the main reasons is the Mediterranean diet which tends to emphasize cuisine using virgin olive oil in just about everything that needs a lubricant for preparing foods, a base for a salad dressing, or simply sprinkling it over food.
Freshness of food is very important in Mediterranean cuisine. Fresh tomatoes, greens, herbs eggs, all play a role in the Mediterranean lifestyle. There is nothing better in the world than eating well prepared fresh food by the sea, while sipping a delicious Mediterranean wine, and enjoying the visual delights of the Mediterranean Sea.
Slow digestion and enjoying the company of others makes for a healthier and more enjoyable pace of living.
Mediterranean furniture is designed to reflect the easy going lifestyle while offering the maximum comfort. Depending on the country and culture, the style will vary. The colors will be bright and lively and the furniture will be unpretentious, ornate, and generous.
The Mediterranean World Concept has a very positive effect on humans helping to prolong their lives. It has to do with reducing stress, getting lots of fresh food, fresh air, and taking it easy.

The spirit of the Mediterranean is easy to recreate in your home decor. All you need are some key elements of color and accessories to enhance your interior design into a Mediterranean oasis. You will feel like you are in an Italian or Greek villa overlooking the sparkling deep blue sea of southern Europe. For your first task, you need to decide on a color palette such as pastel greens and blues or vivid yellows and reds. The blue and green scheme will be tailored to look like Italy whereas the reds are a clear indictor of Spainish influence.

The next step in your goal to recreate the spirit of the Mediterranean is to gather some pictures or artwork which reflect the scenery that you wish to create. Fauvist paintings of the French riviera are ideal or high quality photograps of Greek islands are also ideal. Your art will represnt the look and ambience you are trying to generate. You should also invest in some great linens. White embroidered cushions or multicolored throw blankets are a great way to create a well traveled look to a home decor. You may also want to invest in a great wooden antique dresses or table to act as the focal point of your room.
